Three times a week the dancers of the National Ballet rehearse tirelessly to bring to life the traditional dance heritage of the different ethnic groups of their country, the Central African Republic. The National Ballet is tasked with archiving the rites, gestures, and sounds that once punctuated the lives of village communities: \"for future generations,\" says Ngola Ramadan, Minister of Culture, Arts, and Tourism. \"The goal is to collect, preserve, and pass on,\" she says. Political rallies, inaugurations, and official ceremonies: there are plenty of opportunities to recall ancestral traditions and showcase one's talents in public.
