Niamey,\u00a0Niger –<\/strong> Dix soldats nig\u00e9riens ont \u00e9t\u00e9 tu\u00e9s en d\u00e9but de semaine dans \u00ab\u00a0une embuscade\u00a0\u00bb dans la r\u00e9gion de Tillab\u00e9ri (ouest) pr\u00e8s du Burkina Faso, a indiqu\u00e9 mercredi soir l\u2019arm\u00e9e de ce pays sah\u00e9lien confront\u00e9 aux violences jihadistes.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

L\u2019attaque a vis\u00e9 lundi apr\u00e8s-midi une unit\u00e9 d\u2019intervention militaire \u00e0 la recherche de voleurs de b\u00e9tail, lorsqu\u2019elle est tomb\u00e9e dans \u00ab\u00a0une embuscade\u00a0\u00bb d\u2019un \u00ab\u00a0groupe de criminels\u00a0\u00bb dans la zone de Bankilar\u00e9 (ouest), proche du Burkina Faso, a expliqu\u00e9 l\u2019arm\u00e9e dans son dernier bulletin des op\u00e9rations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

L\u2019embuscade a \u00ab\u00a0entra\u00een\u00e9 la perte de dix de nos vaillants fr\u00e8res d’armes\u00a0\u00bb et \u00ab\u00a0malheureusement l’intervention du renfort terrestre et a\u00e9rien  n’a pas pu permettre de retrouver les assaillants\u00a0\u00bb, d\u00e9plore l\u2019arm\u00e9e.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Elle indique toutefois que le lendemain, \u00ab\u00a0les assaillants, qui ont l’habitude de se regrouper apr\u00e8s chaque attaque ont \u00e9t\u00e9 la cible\u00a0\u00bb de frappes a\u00e9riennes qui ont fait 15 morts parmi les \u00ab\u00a0ennemis\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

L\u2019ouest du Niger, o\u00f9 se trouvent les d\u00e9partements de Tera et de Bankilar\u00e9, est devenu l’\u00e9picentre des violences jihadistes dans le pays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

C’est \u00e9galement le lieu de passage de milliers de camions de fret du Niger arrivant chaque mois du port de Lom\u00e9, au Togo, via le nord du Burkina, sous escorte des arm\u00e9es des deux voisins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

D\u00e9but d\u00e9cembre 2024, 21 civils qui rentraient d\u2019une foire hebdomadaire \u00e0 bord d\u2019un v\u00e9hicule ont \u00e9t\u00e9 assassin\u00e9s par des jihadistes pr\u00e9sum\u00e9s sur cet axe routier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Deux importantes op\u00e9rations antijihadistes de l’arm\u00e9e sont d\u00e9ploy\u00e9es dans la vaste r\u00e9gion de Tillab\u00e9ri.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le Niger est dirig\u00e9 depuis plus d\u2019un an par des militaires arriv\u00e9s au pouvoir suite \u00e0 un coup d’Etat le 26 juillet 2023, est \u00e9galement confront\u00e9 dans son sud-est par des violences de Boko Haram et de l’Etat islamique en Afrique de l’Ouest (ISWAP).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
