Niamey,\u00a0Niger – <\/em>Des milliers de personnes ont manifest\u00e9 mardi au Niger et au Burkina Faso pour soutenir le retrait de leurs pays de la Communaut\u00e9 \u00e9conomique des Etats de l’Afrique de l’Ouest (Cedeao), qui devient effectif mercredi.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n\n\n

Avec le Mali, ces pays sah\u00e9liens dirig\u00e9s par des r\u00e9gimes militaires arriv\u00e9s au pouvoir par des putschs ont form\u00e9 leur propre conf\u00e9d\u00e9ration, l’Alliance des Etats du Sahel (AES), et annonc\u00e9 il y a un an vouloir quitter la Cedeao qu’ils estiment notamment inf\u00e9od\u00e9e \u00e0 la France.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Niamey, plusieurs milliers de manifestants, avec en peloton de t\u00eate des membres du r\u00e9gime militaire, se sont rassembl\u00e9s \u00e0 la Place Toumo, puis ont march\u00e9 vers la Place de la Concertation, devant l\u2019Assembl\u00e9e nationale, \u00e0 quelques kilom\u00e8tres de l\u00e0.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ils ont scand\u00e9 des slogans hostiles au pr\u00e9sident fran\u00e7ais Emmanuel Macron mais aussi \u00e0 certains chefs d’Etat de la r\u00e9gion avec lesquels le Niger entretient des relations tendues, comme le B\u00e9nin, le Nigeria ou la C\u00f4te d’Ivoire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00ab\u00a0Le 28 janvier 2024 nous avons annonc\u00e9 notre sortie de la Cedeao avec effet imm\u00e9diat. Beaucoup pensaient que c’\u00e9tait une blague, ils pensaient qu’on allait revenir sur notre d\u00e9cision\u00a0\u00bb, a dit lors de la manifestation le colonel Ibro Amadou Bacharou, chef d’Etat major particulier du chef de la junte nig\u00e9rienne, le g\u00e9n\u00e9ral Abdourahamane Tiani.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00ab\u00a0Aujourd’hui c’est termin\u00e9, il n’y a plus rien entre la Cedeao et nous!\u00a0\u00bb, a-t-il ajout\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Ouagadougou, plusieurs milliers de manifestants se sont rassembl\u00e9s \u00e0 la place de la Nation, dont le Premier ministre Rimtalba Jean-Emmanuel Ou\u00e9draogo et des membres du gouvernement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00ab\u00a0Vive l’AES, \u00e0 bas la CEDEAO\u00a0\u00bb, \u00ab\u00a0Adieu la Cedeao aux mains li\u00e9es, vive l’AES libre\u00a0\u00bb, pouvait-on lire sur les pancartes brandies par les manifestants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dans le cort\u00e8ge, les drapeaux des trois pays sah\u00e9liens et celui de la Russie flottaient au vent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00ab\u00a0La Cedeao est l’une des cordes de notre asservissement qui a \u00e9t\u00e9 coup\u00e9e. Pour couper le cordon de l’imp\u00e9rialisme (…) cela ne se fera pas par les mains tendres d’une sage-femme, mais par une hache\u00a0\u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 en marge de la manifestation le Premier ministre Ou\u00e9draogo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Des manifestations \u00e9taient \u00e9galement pr\u00e9vues au Mali.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le 29 janvier 2024, au lendemain de leur annonce, les trois pays avaient formellement notifi\u00e9 \u00e0 la Cedeao leur volont\u00e9 de retrait \u00ab\u00a0imm\u00e9diat\u00a0\u00bb. Les textes de l’organisation ouest-africaine imposent cependant un d\u00e9lai d’un an pour qu’il soit effectif.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Les pays de l’AES vont mettre en circulation d\u00e8s mercredi leur propre passeport commun et ont annonc\u00e9 pour bient\u00f4t une arm\u00e9e unifi\u00e9e de 5.000 hommes pour combattre les jihadistes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
