Des milliers de Mozambicains, fuyant les violentes manifestations post-\u00e9lectorales dans leur pays, particuli\u00e8rement vives cette semaine et accompagn\u00e9es de vandalisme et de pillages, ont trouv\u00e9 refuge dans les pays voisins, a-t-on appris aupr\u00e8s de sources gouvernementales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Quelque 13.000 personnes ont ainsi fui vers le Malawi, principalement via sa fronti\u00e8re m\u00e9ridionale, a-t-on ajout\u00e9 de m\u00eames sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cet afflux a commenc\u00e9 d\u00e8s lundi, co\u00efncidant avec la confirmation par la plus haute cour du Mozambique de la victoire, contest\u00e9e par l’opposition, du parti au pouvoir le Frelimo aux \u00e9lections du 9 octobre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Un responsable r\u00e9gional \u00e0 Nsanje, Dominic Mwandira, a confirm\u00e9 que plus de 2.500 familles s’\u00e9taient pr\u00e9sent\u00e9es \u00e0 la fronti\u00e8re, redoutant que ce nombre n’augmente dans les prochains jours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Plusieurs minist\u00e8res ont \u00e9t\u00e9 alert\u00e9s et les demandeurs d’asile ont \u00e9t\u00e9 h\u00e9berg\u00e9s sur plusieurs sites d’accueil temporaire, a-t-il pr\u00e9cis\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Un responsable de l’agence de l’ONU pour les r\u00e9fugi\u00e9s (HCR), s’exprimant sous couvert d’anonymat, a confirm\u00e9 qu’il s’agissait d’une situation d’urgence n\u00e9cessitant des efforts de coordination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00ab\u00a0Vu la complexit\u00e9 de la situation, nous n’avons pas encore v\u00e9rifi\u00e9 le nombre exact d’arriv\u00e9es. Les efforts d’enregistrement ont commenc\u00e9 aujourd’hui, et nous aurons une vision plus claire une fois ce processus achev\u00e9, a-t-il ajout\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00ab\u00a0Nous pourrons ensuite \u00e9valuer comment les diriger vers des logements plus permanents\u00a0\u00bb, a ajout\u00e9 le responsable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Au royaume d’Eswatini, la ministre des Affaires \u00e9trang\u00e8res, Pholile Shakantu, a confirm\u00e9 que son pays avait \u00ab\u00a0les mains ouvertes\u00a0\u00bb pour recevoir des r\u00e9fugi\u00e9s mozambicains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Plus de 350 d’entre eux ont \u00e9t\u00e9 accueillis cette semaine, soit un total de plus de 500 depuis le d\u00e9but des manifestations post-\u00e9lectorales en octobre, a-t-elle pr\u00e9cis\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A l’appel de l’opposition mozambicaine, qui d\u00e9nonce des fraudes et une \u00e9lection \u00ab\u00a0vol\u00e9e\u00a0\u00bb, le pays lusophone a connu d\u00e9j\u00e0 deux mois de manifestations, gr\u00e8ves et blocages qui ont au moins co\u00fbt\u00e9 la vie \u00e0 261 personnes, dont 134 depuis le d\u00e9but de la semaine, selon l’ONG locale Plataforma Decide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
