AJOUTE \u00c9LECTION DU PR\u00c9SIDENT DE L’ASSEMBL\u00c9E<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le Premier ministre Ousmane Sonko a annonc\u00e9 lundi avoir choisi de rester \u00e0 la t\u00eate du gouvernement plut\u00f4t que de devenir pr\u00e9sident de l’Assembl\u00e9e, coupant court aux sp\u00e9culations sur son r\u00f4le apr\u00e8s la victoire de son parti aux l\u00e9gislatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

M. Sonko, figure dominante de la politique s\u00e9n\u00e9galaise ces derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es, a indiqu\u00e9 \u00e0 des journalistes qu’il renon\u00e7ait au mandat de d\u00e9put\u00e9 remport\u00e9 aux \u00e9lections parlementaires du 17 novembre, \u00e0 l’occasion de l’installation de la nouvelle Assembl\u00e9e.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

M. Sonko a \u00e9t\u00e9 nomm\u00e9 Premier ministre en avril au lendemain de la victoire de son bras droit Bassirou Diomaye Faye \u00e0 la pr\u00e9sidentielle, succ\u00e8s dont il est l’architecte. En novembre, il \u00e9tait t\u00eate de liste de son parti, le Pastef, vainqueur des l\u00e9gislatives, avec 130 des 165 si\u00e8ges de l’Assembl\u00e9e nationale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00ab\u00a0Je reste \u00e0 la Primature (le poste de Premier ministre). J’\u00e9tais venu d\u00e9poser ma lettre de d\u00e9mission en tant que d\u00e9put\u00e9\u00a0\u00bb, a-t-il dit \u00e0 l’ext\u00e9rieur de l’Assembl\u00e9e.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00ab\u00a0Nous avons entam\u00e9 un travail \u00e0 la Primature. Le pr\u00e9sident a besoin de moi \u00e0 ses c\u00f4t\u00e9s. On continue ce travail\u00a0\u00bb, a-t-il dit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Les fonctions parlementaires et gouvernementales \u00e9tant incompatibles, M. Sonko sera remplac\u00e9 \u00e0 l’Assembl\u00e9e par le suivant sur la liste du Pastef.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La campagne des l\u00e9gislatives a soulev\u00e9 des interrogations sur la place de M. Sonko au sein des institutions. Des voix se sont \u00e9lev\u00e9es pour plaider qu’il occupe la pr\u00e9sidence du Parlement pour parer les cons\u00e9quences d’un \u00e9ventuel conflit \u00e0 la t\u00eate de l’ex\u00e9cutif avec un pr\u00e9sident qui lui doit sa position.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Malick Ndiaye, jusqu’alors ministre des Transports terrestres et a\u00e9riens, a \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9lu dans la soir\u00e9e pr\u00e9sident de l’Assembl\u00e9e. R\u00e9put\u00e9 proche de M. Sonko, il devient officiellement le deuxi\u00e8me personnage de l’Etat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
