Le bilan de l’assaut surprise, men\u00e9 dans la nuit de dimanche \u00e0 lundi contre une base militaire situ\u00e9e sur l’\u00eele de Barkaram, est \u00ab\u00a0d\u2019une quarantaine de morts et 37 bless\u00e9s dont le pronostic vital n\u2019est pas engag\u00e9\u00a0\u00bb, a-t-il dit au cours d’un point de presse \u00e0 N’Djamena.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00ab\u00a0Purement militaire et s\u00e9curitaire\u00a0\u00bb, l\u2019op\u00e9ration Haskanite lanc\u00e9e en riposte lundi \u00ab\u00a0ne vise pas seulement \u00e0 s\u00e9curiser nos paisibles populations (….). Il est question de traquer, de d\u00e9busquer et d\u2019an\u00e9antir la capacit\u00e9 de nuisance de Boko Haram et de ses affid\u00e9s\u00a0\u00bb, a-t-il ajout\u00e9 sans donner de d\u00e9tail sur les forces mobilis\u00e9es sur le terrain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

De son c\u00f4t\u00e9, le chef de la diplomatie Abderaman Koulamallah a renouvel\u00e9 mercredi l’appel lanc\u00e9 par son pays \u00e0 la communaut\u00e9 internationale pour un soutien accru dans sa lutte contre les combattants jihadistes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Les soldats tchadiens sont fr\u00e9quemment cibl\u00e9s par les attaques de Boko Haram dans la r\u00e9gion du Lac Tchad, vaste \u00e9tendue d’eau et de mar\u00e9cage parsem\u00e9e d’\u00eelots qui abrite les combattants du groupe jihadiste ou de sa branche dissidente, l’Etat Islamique en Afrique de l’Ouest (Iswap, selon l’acronyme en anglais).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Difficile \u00e0 contrecarrer du fait de la mobilit\u00e9 de ses combattants arm\u00e9s, l’insurrection de Boko Haram est apparue en 2009 au Nigeria, o\u00f9 elle a fait depuis quelque 40.000 morts et plus de deux millions de d\u00e9plac\u00e9s, avant de se propager dans les pays frontaliers,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

En mars 2020, le groupe avait men\u00e9 une offensive sanglante sur une autre base militaire de la r\u00e9gion du lac Tchad, faisant une centaine de morts, les plus lourdes pertes jamais enregistr\u00e9es par l’arm\u00e9e tchadienne.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Comme \u00e0 l’\u00e9poque, trois jours de deuil national ont \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9cr\u00e9t\u00e9s depuis mardi, avec drapeaux en berne et interdiction des activit\u00e9s \u00e0 caract\u00e8re festif.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
