Une nouvelle milice a annonc\u00e9 mardi le d\u00e9ploiement de ses combattants dans l’est du Soudan en coordination avec les forces arm\u00e9es en guerre contre les paramilitaires depuis un an et demi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le Soudan est ravag\u00e9 depuis avril 2023 par une guerre civile opposant les paramilitaires des Forces de soutien rapide (FSR) dirig\u00e9s par le g\u00e9n\u00e9ral Mohamed Hamdane Daglo \u00e0 l’arm\u00e9e, conduite par le g\u00e9n\u00e9ral Abdel Fattah al-Burhane, dirigeant de facto du pays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Elle a fait des dizaines de milliers de morts, les estimations allant de 20.000 \u00e0 150.000, la plupart des victimes n’\u00e9tant pas recens\u00e9es, selon des m\u00e9decins. Elle a aussi d\u00e9plac\u00e9 des millions de personnes et entra\u00een\u00e9 l’une des pires crises humanitaires au monde, selon les Nations unies, qui ont mis en garde contre une famine imminente.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le gouvernement li\u00e9 au g\u00e9n\u00e9ral Burhane a fui Khartoum et s’est install\u00e9 \u00e0 Port-Soudan, la capitale de l’Etat de la Mer Rouge dans l’est du pays, o\u00f9 une grande partie de l’aide humanitaire est \u00e9galement coordonn\u00e9e.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

L’est du Soudan a jusqu’\u00e0 pr\u00e9sent \u00e9t\u00e9 largement \u00e9pargn\u00e9 par la guerre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mais mardi, une nouvelle milice, qui se fait appeler \u00ab\u00a0Bataillon de l’Est\u00a0\u00bb et qui a \u00e9t\u00e9 entra\u00een\u00e9e en Erythr\u00e9e voisine, a annonc\u00e9 dans un communiqu\u00e9 qu’elle se d\u00e9ployait dans l’Etat de Kassala (est), adjacent \u00e0 l’Etat de la Mer Rouge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Elle a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 que ses \u00ab\u00a0forces dirig\u00e9es par le g\u00e9n\u00e9ral Al-Amine Daoud Mahmoud (…) se d\u00e9ploient dans la r\u00e9gion orientale apr\u00e8s consultation avec les forces arm\u00e9es\u00a0\u00bb du g\u00e9n\u00e9ral Burhane.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00ab\u00a0Cela s’inscrit dans la strat\u00e9gie du Bataillon de l’Est de prot\u00e9ger le territoire (…) avec l’appareil de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 du pays\u00a0\u00bb, a-t-elle ajout\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Interrog\u00e9es par l’AFP, les forces arm\u00e9es n’ont pas imm\u00e9diatement r\u00e9agi \u00e0 cette information dans l’imm\u00e9diat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le \u00ab\u00a0Bataillon de l’Est\u00a0\u00bb fait partie d’une poign\u00e9e de nouvelles milices apparues au Soudan apr\u00e8s avoir re\u00e7u une formation en Erythr\u00e9e, suscitant des craintes quant \u00e0 l’implication de nouvelles factions arm\u00e9es dans le conflit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
